Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Anchor collects, how we use it and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can, we never sell your personal information, and we don’t run ads.

Information you give us

• Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Discord, the name and profile picture that provider shares.
• Saved slips: tickets you choose to save, such as the game, legs, odds, stake and your confidence setting.
• Agreements: the version of our Terms and Privacy Policy you agreed to when signing in, and when.
• Price checks: when you enter a sportsbook’s price for a ticket, the book, game, number of legs, Anchor’s estimate and the price you entered.
• Plan and billing status: your plan, and from our payment processor Whop, your membership id, status, billing period and renewal date. We never see or store your card details.
• Messages: your name, email, topic and message when you contact us.

Information collected automatically

• Usage analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies): pages viewed, clicks, and features used, such as picking a lock or opening the review sheet, along with device, browser and approximate location from your IP address.
• Aggregate traffic stats that don’t use cookies or identify you.
• Technical logs such as IP address, request time and errors, kept briefly for security, abuse prevention and debugging.
• Browser storage on your own device, not sent to us: your cookie choice, that you’ve seen our 21+ notice, the sportsbook you picked, the games in your parlay across games, and your email address for a few minutes while an email sign-in link is on its way.

We don’t collect your sportsbook logins, bets you actually place, payment card numbers or government ID.

• To run Anchor: sign you in, save your slips and manage your plan;
• To reply to your messages and send important service notices;
• To understand which features help people, and improve them;
• To keep Anchor secure and prevent abuse; and
• To meet legal obligations.

• Essential: sign-in session cookies that keep you logged in, and a small setting in your browser that remembers your cookie choice. These are always on because Anchor can’t work without them.
• Analytics (optional): product analytics cookies from PostHog and HeyCatch, set only after you click “Accept all”. You can change your mind anytime; turning them back off takes effect when you next load a page.
• Cookieless traffic stats: anonymous, aggregate page-view counts from our hosting provider that don’t use cookies.

Cookie settings to update your choice.

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run Anchor, under contracts that limit how they use it:

• Google Firebase: authentication and database hosting;
• PostHog: product analytics, if you opt in;
• HeyCatch: product analytics, if you opt in. We also send it one event from our own servers when a paid plan starts, identified by your account id alone — no cookie is involved, so that event is sent whatever your cookie choice. We never send it your email or your name;
• Vercel, our hosting provider: serving the site and cookieless traffic stats;
• ESPN’s image servers: team logos load from them, so your browser sends them your IP address and browser details, like any image request;
• Sign-in providers (Google, Discord) when you choose to use them; and
• Whop, our payment processor: checkout, subscriptions and billing. Whop handles your payment details directly under its own privacy policy; we never see them.

Odds and roster data come from third-party feeds; we don’t send them your personal information. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business.

We keep account data, saved slips and price checks while your account is open. Contact messages are kept for up to two years. Analytics data is kept for up to 12 months. Records of billing events are kept for up to seven years for tax and accounting. When you delete your account from your account page, we delete your profile, saved slips, price checks and sign-in immediately and unlink your contact messages; copies in backups expire within 30 days.

Depending on where you live (including under California’s CCPA/CPRA and the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, download or delete your personal information, and to object to or limit certain uses. We honour these requests for everyone, wherever you are.

You can delete your account yourself from your account page. For anything else, use our contact form and choose “Privacy or data request”. We’ll verify it’s you and respond within 30 days. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights.

We don’t sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a choice of essential cookies only.

We use encryption in transit, passwordless sign-in with verified email addresses, httpOnly session cookies, and a database that browsers can’t reach directly: every read and write goes through our servers and is limited to your own account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.

Anchor is only for people aged 21 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think we have, contact us and we’ll delete it.

We’ll post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it applies.
